Steampunk

So what is steampunk? I would describe it as Jules Verne style, things from today that are made out of stuff like brass, and steam, and gears. Elena asked me if I wanted to participate in a steampunk themed hair clip swap...I spent weeks and maybe even months (since we saw Alice in Wonderland) shopping and getting ideas...but I was procrastinating. So on Friday I finally brought everything together...I used french clip hair barrettes, with a small piece of leather and lace, and I used Tim Holtz Gears, some Making Memories pearls/sequins/rhinestones that came in a great set, and I used my pentel brush pens to paint some Maya Road gears. I had a lot of fun, and this is the end result! I don't know what was more fun, the collecting of supplies or the making...

Hey Adeli, it's actually a photo of 6 hairclips, each hairclip is pretty small, I used a mini french clip for each, so maybe 2.5 inches?

Thanks Alison! I had a lot of fun making those, the only regret I have is that I didn't make one for myself ;)
